He cannot understand his brother's decision to leave the family behind to chase his dreams (and marry a commoner to top it all!), and he is also envious of his sister being chosen by Raherras to replace him as the heir. He considerably younger than either of his older siblings, and is rather spoiled as a kid by his mother. The youngest royal sibling is prince Roldia. However, she is never able to take the throne. She is reluctant to replace her brother as the heir to the throne, but also loves him enough to see that he is never going to be happy if he won't be able to leave all the ruling business behind and focus on his magic studies. She is also a close friend to a woman who later becomes Raherras' wife ( Garimelda). Princess Mariel is the middle child of Tonyir and Ildir, mostly ignored by her parents, but dearly loved by her older brother Raherras. He decides to hand over the crown to his younger sister to be free to live his life as a mage. He also has rather wild youth (he has unknown number of kids with various women), but when he chooses to pursuit his one true ambition, magic, he also finally settles down. Queen Ildir adores their (grumpy) younger son, Roldia.Ĭrown prince Raherras (one of the main characters in the story) is more interested in becoming a wizard than inheriting the kingdom after his father. Their marriage was a political one (any other kind is rare in royal families), but during their long life together they have learned to appreciate each other, although the relationship is far from love. King Toryir's wife is Ildir Fressmonne-Groeven. It also has religious connotations in their kingdom, because it is associated to the goddess of earth. Green is the colour of the royal family and has been since before anyone can remember. The old man at the back is King Tonyir II Groeven, who comes from a very long line of kings. Let's start with the older generation, shall we. So, yes: original characters for a change, hooray! Inspired by that conversation I had to do some characters from that story on the doll maker. My friend visited this weekend and we talked about my old fantasy story, that I haven't written in a long time.
